How Long Do OnlyFans Payouts Take, and How Much Does OnlyFans Keep?

6 min read

Short answer: OnlyFans keeps 20% of everything a fan pays, and the remaining 80% sits in a pending balance for a holding period that is usually described as around seven days before you can withdraw it. Once you request a payout, a bank transfer typically takes one to five business days depending on country and method. End to end, from a fan's card being charged to money in your account, is roughly one to two weeks.

Here is each step, what can slow it down, and how to set payouts up so you are not thinking about them.

The 20%

OnlyFans takes 20% of every subscription, tip, pay-per-view purchase and custom. You see 80%. A $10 tip is $8 to you. A $50 custom is $40.

That 20% covers payment processing, hosting, support and the platform's margin. It is the same rate across all creators and has been since the platform launched. It is a business expense for tax purposes, which we cover in the tax guide.

Chargebacks come out of your side, not the platform's. If a fan disputes a $50 purchase, the $40 you received is reversed. More on that in chargebacks explained.

The holding period

When a fan pays, the money does not go straight into your withdrawable balance. It sits as pending for a holding period. Published guides and creator reports describe this as typically seven days, with longer holds, up to around three weeks, reported for newer accounts and some regions.

The hold exists as a buffer against fraud and chargebacks. There is no way to shorten it. New creators sometimes read the pending balance as a problem; it is not. It is money that is yours and on its way.

The minimum withdrawal

You cannot withdraw until your available balance reaches a minimum, which has been $20 for US accounts and varies by country and payout method. Some methods carry higher minimums. Your own payout settings show the current figure.

Manual or automatic payouts

OnlyFans offers two ways to withdraw:

Option How it works Best for
Manual You request a withdrawal whenever your available balance is above the minimum Creators who want control over timing, or who batch withdrawals for bookkeeping
Automatic OnlyFans pays out on a schedule you choose, commonly daily, weekly or monthly, whenever the balance is above the minimum Everyone else

Automatic weekly is the sensible default. You stop thinking about it, money arrives on a predictable day, and your bank statement is tidy for tax.

How long the transfer takes by method

Available methods vary by country. Reported timings:

Method Typical time to arrive Notes
Direct bank transfer (US ACH) 1 to 2 business days after processing The usual US option
Direct bank transfer (UK and EU) 1 to 5 business days Varies by bank
International wire 3 to 5 business days Often carries a fee, reported around $30, and a higher minimum
E-wallets, where offered 1 to 3 business days Availability depends on country

OnlyFans processes payout requests in cycles rather than instantly, so "requested on Tuesday" usually means "processed within a day or two, then the bank's time on top".

Weekends and bank holidays do not count as business days anywhere in this chain.

Putting it together

A realistic timeline for a fan who tips you on a Monday:

  1. Monday: fan pays. 80% appears in your pending balance.
  2. The following Monday: the hold ends and the money moves to your available balance.
  3. Same week: your automatic weekly payout triggers, or you request a manual one.
  4. One to five business days later: money arrives in your bank.

So around ten to fourteen days from tip to bank, and faster once payouts are flowing weekly, because last week's money arrives while this week's is pending.

Why a payout might be delayed

If a payout is later than expected, the usual reasons in order:

  • Bank details entered wrong, or the account name does not match your verified legal name. The commonest cause for new creators.
  • The balance was below the minimum when the automatic payout ran.
  • Identity or tax documents outstanding. OnlyFans asks for a tax form from creators in some countries, and may pause payouts until it is filed.
  • A bank holiday on either side.
  • A review on the account, usually after a flag on content, a spike in chargebacks, or a report. OnlyFans can hold payouts while it investigates. Contact support through the platform and keep your messages factual.
  • A wire transfer that is simply slower than a domestic transfer.

If none of those apply and it has been more than a week beyond the usual timing, raise a support ticket with the payout reference.

Getting the money out of the platform safely

  • Use a dedicated bank account for OnlyFans income. It keeps your records clean, and your personal banking never touches the platform.
  • Set a weekly automatic payout so the balance does not build up on the platform.
  • Move 25% to 30% of each payout into a separate savings pot for tax on the day it lands.
  • Keep your statements. Download the monthly earnings statement from OnlyFans; it shows gross, fee and net, which is exactly what your tax return needs.
